Summary:
Organising an international youth project is not an easy task: finding international reliable partners, making agreements, assessing participants’ real needs and involving them in all stages of the project are challenging processes even for experienced project managers.

Over the years National Agencies and trainers in the field have identified common mistakes when organising a Erasmus+:YiA project. This TC was developed to help new comers understand the easy-to-make flops and the pit-falls of project management and to creatively discover alternatives and practices that facilitate cooperation and promote the project quality. Furthermore - looking a bit beyond the project management process - E+: YiA projects are all about learning, and mistakes play a role there as well: not as something to be avoided, but as an opportunity to learn from.

In this training course we will look for the mistakes to make and those to avoid, we will celebrate failure and discover creative tools to find safer paths for success.

Main aim:
The training aims to help new Erasmus+ beneficiaries (Youth workers, youth leaders and project managers) to identify the most common mistakes when organizing E+ Youth projects and look at ways to prevent these mistakes with alternative solutions for when they occur.

Aims & objectives:

• To identify the most common mistakes in E+ projects during preparation, implementation and follow-up phases;
• To find the practices that prevent difficult situations in E+ projects and increase the chances of obtaining good results;
• To acknowledge that mistakes are part of the natural learning cycle and we can learn from them at personal level;
• To discover strategies and management techniques to deal constructively with mistakes in a youth project at organizational level;

Methodology:
The program consists of 5 full training days plus an extended learning period that includes online support activities before and after the training. Before the TC participants are invited to discover more information about the topic, take part in online assignments and one online meeting. After the training, participants will create an action plan and the team will offer online support, including two online mentoring sessions to the group.

The training will be based on collaborative training sessions that look specifically at common mistakes in youth projects and seek for ways to prevent/deal with them. We will explore mistakes in diverse ways such as Improvisation Techniques, Clowning, Creative Writing and others.

To assure that this activity meets the real needs of the field, the training program will be designed after consulting the participating NA’s on the most common mistakes they identify in E+ projects.

Profile of Participants:

• Youth workers, youth leaders or project managers who are engaged with youth organisations and are beginners in using the E+ program but have been involved in organising at least one project (in any organisational role: facilitating, organising, writing application, support participants, etc).
• Planning to organise an E+ in the near future (the program includes support for this new project).
• Motivated to work on the topic of learning from mistakes.
• Available to take active part in the training course dates + extended learning activities (see above).

Costs
This project is financed by the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country.

Note: Hungarian applicants are expected to apply on a Hungarian and on an English application form, too.
