Since 2016 a number of Erasmus + National Agencies have been developing a strategic approach, called Democracy Reloaded in supporting local and regional authorities, municipalities for planning, developing and reforming democratic youth participation in decision making with the aim to develop critical, responsible, active and solidary citizenship. It is the fourth educational activity organised in the framework of Democracy Reloaded.

The Study Visit will provide the space for participating public authority officers dealing with youth participation:

• to observe and reflect on a number of existing practices of local youth participation structures in Belgium FR;
• to get familiar and reflect on the recently developed Map of Competences for municipality workers engaging in youth participation,
• to reflect and discuss through identifying their strengths and opportunities with the help of the Map of Competences,
• to share their personal experience in relation 
• to youth participation in decision making,
• to develop understanding of youth participation models, practices (including the EU Structured Dialogue) and to reflect on their transferability into municipal youth participation structures,
• to learn about the funding mechanism of Erasmus+ and in particular KA3,
• to establish cooperation for potential future Erasmus+ projects that may support the development of strategies and action plans for fostering youth participation processes and the development of structures and instruments of structured dialogue and co-management in their local context,

The Study Visit will be a great opportunity for municipality workers and youth representatives to learn and plan together. Therefore, we would like to encourage municipalities to invite a representative of the existing youth participation structure and apply together.

Costs
This project is financed by the Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your Erasmus+: Youth in Action NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.

Note: Hungarian applicants are expected to apply on a Hungarian and on an English application form, too.
